Hi!

 Welcome to Lauren’s Lil Learners! I am so excited to have you here! I teach prep (foundation) in country Victoria. I have been teaching since 2007. I have taught from Kindergarten through to year 2, I just LOVE teaching the little ones! In 2011, I decided that it was Early Childhood, which I was most passionate about and I completed my Masters in Early Childhood Education. This was a turning point for me! I loved studying when I actually had experience in the topics! I loved researching topics I was passionate about and wrote my thesis on the importance of play based learning. 

I am married to a teacher! I met him on my first teaching posting in a remote community it was definitely fate – we love having the holidays together! We have 2 kiddos Melah (9) and Arlo (7).

My favourite favourite subjects to teach are Literacy and Maths, in particularly early reading and writing skills and phonics using evidenced based practices.

I am an advocate for a balanced approach to learning in the Early Childhood classroom. Play based learning and the explicit teaching of key concepts in Maths and Literacy.

Other than creating resources, which I spend most of my spare time doing, because I love it! I enjoy sewing fun dresses, crocheting and shopping! We love the outdoors and spend lots of time camping, fishing and exploring this amazing country!
